Artist's Comments

It's finished at last! Somewhere between 90-100 hours work. Madness.

A3 sized (29.7 x 42 cms). All in pencil.

I reversed the photo to help change things a bit and altered the dress. The pattern on the dress is based on a textile design panel fom 1881 by William Morris. It was originally designed for drapes in St James Palace.
My one big mistake in this is that I forgot I was going to add the fine reflections at the end with the aid of an eraser and I went ahead and sprayed it with fixative.

By request, I've added a detail of this to my scraps [link]

Gorgeous!!!! Great job on the water and the fabric. The hours you spent on it really show. I like your signature! Very "artist"-like. Very sophisticated-looking. I could go on, but just know I think this is beautiful. :)

Of course it is unfair to compare Adolf Hitler and George W. Bush: Hitler was actually elected.

Thank you, Jana. I think that's the first time someone's admired my signature :D [I sign my cheques differently ... thought I'd mention that before anyone thinks they can pull off off signing my name]
I rushed finishing this in the end. I couldn't face another day working on it
